There is that within us which lights us up and if we simply allow ourselves to be a vehicle for the Divine. We don't need to go in search of anything because we'll find everything we need is already here and already within. The Love of the Divine, the Joy of the Divine, the Abundance of the Divine, and the Wholeness of the Divine burns bright within us. However, we need to make a conscious choice to turn within and connect with the luminescence that we are.
This time of year (or any time of year, actually) can
bring up feelings that are uncomfortable or make us unhappy. Maybe we feel lonely or unlovable. Maybe we feel we don't have enough money or talent or good looks. Or maybe we feel like a victim or a failure. And what are those feelings but a turning away from the Truth and a refusal to look at the Light of Truth within? We can follow the light within to the Greater Light and a realization that we are the out-picturing of God.

Today is Christmas and it symbolizes the birth of the light within us all. We are the perfect union of God in man (and woman). It is time to remember our relationship to Spirit and begin to step into our courage and let our own brand of light shine so we can make the difference we are here to make.
Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
Each of us should seek that beam of light within and follow it to the great Light - the Light that is in everything. We must acquiesce to It, and surrender all that has made us unhappy, all that has isolated us from It. Only then can God fully pronounce Itself through us and in us, and personalize Itself as us.

know the outcome even before we start, by choosing comfort over growth, by not claiming our power, and by not owning up to our Truth that we are the Divine in action. We wait for the perfect time to begin and while we are waiting, the world is being robbed of a most valuable asset: us. We have come here to make a difference but we can't make that difference if we hide out.
want to create something new in our life, we may have to be dedicated and disciplined to think new thoughts and create new patterns of behavior. These new thoughts and new behaviors may bring us to the very edge of our comfort zone and take us on a path of the unknown which will very likely not feel good. In fact, 'feeling good' may help us cover up those ideas that will lead to growth and transformation.
of these weird rules? Just take a look at the picture. The result is a lot of emotional bypassing, pretending, and expending a lot of effort to navigate the waters of life. The result is feeling like I've never ever been completely myself. The result is that I feel like I have to hide the aspects of me that live outside the box and outside the rules. The result is that I don't trust my own wisdom.
modalities and slow to use spiritual mind treatment. We go on the internet, we use the magic lights, the magic cards, and the magic crystals. We pay money for shamans and oils and supplements. And that is all good, but how about including spiritual mind treatment with that as well? Maybe we'd get better results or quicker results. This is the crux of what we teach in the Science of Mind philosophy.
us stuck and simply understanding them may not be enough to take us to Chapter 5. Growing up, I learned how to hide my feelings so I could navigate my parents' feelings; never showing or telling what I wanted or needed. I came to believe something was wrong with me and I couldn't be myself if I wanted to fit in or be loved. Looking back, I don't think I was ever completely myself. I am still working in Chapter 3 for my "mac daddy" false belief of "I'm not enough / I'm not good enough / there's something wrong with me."
up deeper, showing up more authentically, and showing up more for myself. I facilitated a correspondence course for an inmate in Alabama, helping him work through issues of anger, frustration, self-acceptance, and shame. This helped me work through my own feelings. I hired a coach who is gifted as seeing past my wall and fear and is a guide on my heroine's journey. I am showing up for myself, moving deeper into myself, and into my power. And it is scary.
and made the needed changes that we know will result in increased happiness or success? How many times do we keep doing the same things over and over because we've had some past success, even if it isn't working now? How often do we seem to demand that others change to our way of thinking and behaving? I wonder how many ways we are keeping our good from ourselves, whether it is in health, relationships, or finances simply because we continue to hang onto to old ideas or old patterns.
we get to determine what is right for us and we can wake up to the idea that things can be different and we can be different. And we don't have to settle for someone else's opinion. I love this twist on the Serenity Prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change; the courage to change the one I can; and the wisdom to know that person is me.
simply allow things to happen once we establish a particular consciousness? When we look in the mirror and we don't like what we see, we don't try and fix the mirror, do we? And yet, that's exactly what we are doing when we look to the external world and try to fix things out there when we don't also work on adjusting what created that thing that needs to be fixed in the first place: namely our consciousness.
allow our inner life determine our outer life and not the other way around. And this type of changed thinking takes time and practice. And we may not get it perfect the first thousand times we try it, but we must persist.
thought could be the beginning of opening up; the beginning of releasing old ideas and beliefs; the beginning of allowing and not controlling; the beginning of listening to our own inner brilliance.
determine how (or even if) we move ahead? Maybe we start something with confidence only to let the memory of Uncle Bert telling us we could never accomplish anything diminish our confidence. And before long, another thought that is similar follows along and we are soon derailed. Some of us go through life hanging onto a belief that we can't do something simply because we failed at it once before.
good. We have ideas about our worthiness. We think if we have more than others will have less; we worry what other people will think of us - we might look greedy; we question our ability to handle money or other good. The result is we don't ask for what we want and we block the flow of good to us and through us. It's time to get out the Spiritual Drano to unclog our pipes.
feel -deep down - about God? How many of the ideas that we had about God when we were children remain, even if it just a tendril that remains? Is God some far off deity? Is God a vengeful Being? Is God something you turn to only in tough times because God is too busy to deal with your minor day-to-day needs? Is God sitting on a throne, wearing white, with white hair? Yes, what we think about God says a lot about us. What picture are you drawing of God?
