Tune Into Your Own Music

The story goes like this: Paganini was scheduled to give a concert and when he appeared to the eager crowd, he looked down to find a cheap violin where his Stradivarius violin should have been. Excusing himself to go backstage, he was told his violin must have been stolen and this was the only replacement the concert hall staff could find.

Paganini goes back out onstage and said, "What I willdo tonight is bear witness to each of you that the music is not in the violin." And by his own account, he went on to play the finest concert of his entire life.

The music, our music, is not in the violin; the music is in each one of us. It is our calling, our quest, our inner brilliance. We want to go deep and unleash our brilliance and our music and then we get sidetracked by the conditions of our life. These conditions may feel as if they've come upon us out of nowhere and they are nothing of our choosing. And when we deal with life at the level of our conditions, it seems as if our music (or God) is nowhere to be found.

And yet, something is calling us to go deeper. We don't need to go in search for meaning or purpose; we don't need to go in search for Spirit or the Divine - it is all right here. Are you willing to open up to the music within? How deep are are you willing to go?

I think I hear Beethoven's Violin Concerto in D Major Op. 61 ringing in my ears. What about you?

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
Realizing that while the Power is limitless, It must become operative through our own thought, we shall see that what we need is not some greater power, but a greater consciousness, a deeper realization of life, a more sublime concept of Being, a more intimate concept of an already indwelling God

Your Uncommon Life

We all have the potential to rise up above common and mediocre and be uncommon. We have the potential to use our talents, skills, gifts, and passion to make a difference and be a beneficial presence in this world. And in order to rise above being common, we may need to step out of our comfort zone and be willing to play big as God.

There may be people around you (or even inside your
head) that might say negative things about your skills, your past, your potential, or even your future. There may be people around you (or even inside you head) that try and convince you to play it safe, follow the rules, and accept your fate. Living an uncommon life means we must move beyond those negative ideas and walk through a spiritual doorway to our greater vision.

We must remember we are not bound to our problems; in fact, we are bound to our good. We are making tomorrow's dreams come true by the work we are doing today. Let's stand up and agree to be what we were created to be: a powerful creator,a person of possibilities, and someone living an uncommon life!

Remember, you are uncommonly good and uncommonly God!

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
Prayer leads one to a place of mental acceptance but prayer without faith is ineffectual. Faith elevates the prayer to conviction, and acceptance. Where does God come in? God already is in and does not have to come from anywhere to anywhere. God is the entire process, both in our thought as individuals and in the universal as answering our individual thought.      ~ Can We Talk to God?

The Search is Over

A young man was apprenticed to a master artist who produced some of the most beautiful stained glass anywhere. The apprentice could not approach the master's genius, so he borrowed his master's tools, thinking that was the answer. After several weeks, the young man said to his teacher, "I'm not doing any better with your tools than I did with mine." The master replied, "It's not the tools of the master you need; it's the spirit of the master you need."

Sometimes we forget our spiritual support; we forget our connection to God. When we are facing adifficulty, a challenging situation, or something serious in our lives, we forget about God in that moment. Instead, we try and fix, repair, heal, or change everything on our own. We tell ourselves (and everyone around us) how big our problem is and we forget to tell our problem how big our God is.

Can we open ourselves up to a more intimate relationship with the God of our being? What will it take for us to remember that we don't need to go searching outside of ourselves for answers or even spiritual support? We already have everything we need.

Instead of searching for tools and gadgets and advice from things or people 'out there', it's time to tune into the master within, the spirit within, and unleash our true power, our true potential, our true support, and movie into our infinite possibilities

It's time to stretch yourself, do things you wouldn't ordinarily do, and go after your dreams.

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
Someone might say:  Where does God come in in this performance? God does not come in. God never went out. Every word we speak is God, everything we see is God - the buttercup, the sunset, the morning dew nestling in the petal of the rose, that is God, and love and laughter are God. God is everything, everywhere, every place - the innermost presence of our own thought, the outermost rim and circumference of our own experience.
