Succumbing to Forgiveness

Our mind is filled with thousands of thoughts and hopefully, most of the thoughts  are great ones. And yet, we have some thoughts that percolate to the surface of our mind that involve judgment, suspicion, cynicism, anger, blame, distrust, envy, and jealousy.

And we think that if everything would just go our way, we'd never have any of these thoughts; we'd never get angry, never to to forgive anyone, and we'd be happy. But we need to remember that in this physical world, we are always at choice and we always have the opportunity learn and grow andtransform.
Every experience - and every negative thought - gives us an opportunity to connect with our inner genius and to connect with the Divine Presence. Succumbing to forgiveness allows our hearts to open wide and to step into our authenticity and rise above our small identities and petty judgments.

We are here to experience our greatness and our magnificence. We are here to live our passion and our purpose. We are here to make a difference. And if we are so busy hiding out and living in shame or blame, then we are missing out on living, loving, and experiencing the Truth of Who We Are. One of the secrets of living a fulfilling and happy life is to forgive; it opens the heart and allows us to grow into our infinite possibilities.

And don't forget, that includes forgiving yourself most of all!

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
If we criticize, condemn, and censure, these are the attitudes that occupy our thinking.  They will not only reflect themselves outwardly, they will also reflect themselves inwardly.  They must, for the without is but an extension of the within, and the within is the determinor of that extension.  If we want a complete clearance of our attitudes, we must forgive everything and everyone.  Whether we like it or not, or whether we accept it or not, this is one of the great truths of life.       ~ 365 Science of Mind

What Are You Hungry For?

It seems like we want everything quick today. If we see something we like, most people don’t save up for it; they just go out and put it on their credit card. We listen to sound bites on the news and eat fast food. It’s like we are using Cliff Notes for our lives. When we are hungry for something, we want it and we want it NOW!

Who hasn't been tempted to give it all up because we think it isn't worth the wait? Or, conversely, we will pay money for the “magic bullet.” You know, thatthing that is guaranteed to change our lives in a weekend. We get pulled into the 5 steps of Success, the 7 Keys to Happiness, the Magic of Making All Your Dreams Come True. I've spent time and money on those ‘Magic Bullets’ myself only to find smoke and mirrors and not a real "Magic Bullet" at all!

Can we come to a place and rely on spiritual food to help nourish our soul and feed our spirit?  And what might we have to give up in order to do that? We might have to give up our desire for the approval of others or our need for recognition and appreciation from anything or anyone external to us.

On our journey to remembering the Truth about who we are on a daily basis, we don’t need to give up sugar or chocolate or video games. We need to give up something much deeper and much more important. What stories have to go? What have we been believing that has kept us stuck and in low gear? What ideas keep us feeling less than? What ideas keep us feeling apart from the Infinite? When we can release those, then we are moving toward our infinite possibilities

And the great thing about being hungry for spiritual food, is that is is low carb and low calorie!

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
When I go out and plant a garden, I walk away and leave it, and I know something is going to make it grow.  Its growth -- the law of its being, that which is going to react to it out of the Universe now -- is independent even of myself, though I planted it. I was the gardener only.  We speak of “making” a garden.  We plant one.  Nature makes the garden; “God gives the increase.
. . . the person who uses the Principles of the Science of Mind the most effectively is the one who is the most deeply inwardly convinced of a simplicity and an integrity of the Universe, and that he is the one who can do it.  No conceit about it:  he can plant the garden; the garden is independent of him.

You Are the Architect of Your Life

We are in the construction business. We are building a house and the house is called our life. Have we been putting the best materials into it we possibly could? Or are we thinking about cheating life or getting by with shortcuts?

Cheating life and getting by with shortcuts is settling for our limitations; it is buying into our excuses as the truth. It is playing small and playing safe; it isgiving up on our dreams and desires, or worse yet, giving up on ourselves; it is living someone else's dream. We are planning and drawing the blueprint of our lives at this very moment. Are we planning and drawing a mansion or a shack? Or something in between? Or, do we hold ourselves in check because of the stories we tell ourselves about all the mistakes we've made in the past and think we don't deserve success or happiness or the mansion we really want?

Maybe we can't see our answered prayer; maybe we can barely distinguish light from dark; yet can't we sense something's coming our way? Isn't there some small voice within that calls you when you least expect it? Doesn't this voice of truth and love and adoration whisper and breeze past you? Listen, listen. When we listen to that, we are not cheating life or getting by with shortcuts. We are tuning into our inner genius; we are tuning into God. We are remembering who we are.

You were born with potential and greatness and wings. Don't crawl; learn to use your wings and fly!

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes:
Divine Love and Infinite Wisdom could not create us as spontaneous individuals without letting us alone to discover ourselves.  In the process of self-discovery we misuse the law of cause and effect.  This is our mistake.  It is through these mistakes that we learn how to use the law of life rightly.

Unexpected Obstacles

We all want smooth roads and smooth sailings, don't we? We all want a life free of struggle, drama, fear, anxiety, and strife. And yet, smooth roads don't create good drivers and calm seas don't develop good sailors. And a problem-free and hassle-free life may not grow our faith or make us strong. In fact, we are likely to encounter unexpected obstacles on our path and it is how we approach these obstacles that will allow us to create our lives from a sense of wonder and infinite possibilities or stop us in our tracks and set us up with infinite excuses. We get to choose.

When we can remember that "All is Well" no matter what obstacle we may encounter, our minds are free to rise up a new level of consciousness from which to look for a solution. You see, when we can be 'well' within ourselves, we can be well with the world. But when we are not 'well' with ourselves - when we think there is something wrong with us, that we are less than, that we don't get the breaks, that we don't have value or worth, that we are a phony, that we are flawed or damaged in some way, then these unexpected obstacles become important.

And regardless of what shows up for us in life that looks dim, grim, and dark, we can still be well within ourselves and remember our passion and our purpose and not get tricked into thinking that anything in the outer world can affect what we think of ourselves. We are a majority of ONE. We are God in action, expressing Life and Love and Passion and Purpose and Exuberance and Awesomeness like no one else on planet Earth. And there are no unexpected obstacles that can deny that Truth.

Sometimes the way through, is over or under or even around the obstacle. And we can enjoy the scenery along the way. Right?
