Tune in and Listen

We all know (or most of us do in any case) that old joke about the man on the streets of New York City who asked someone, "How do I get to Carnegie Hall?" The person leaned on a street sign, laughed a little and said, "Practice. Practice is how to get to Carnegie Hall."

We may want to 'get to' a lot of things and places, but we don't
need to 'get to' God because God is already here and is who we are. However, we may need practice looking within and making that connection instead of looking at the external world and assessing and judging everything through our 3-dimensional eyes. Part of that practice is to tune in and listen to the wisdom.

We all have a built-in ability to successfully navigate the twists and turns of life and find our way home - back to center; back to the Presence within; back to our true selves. But we need to learn to be still and listen; we need to learn to be human 'be-ings' instead of human 'do-ings' in the midst of feeling lost or confused or fearful or sad or lonely. We need to tune in and listen to the wisdom of the Divine within.

Are we wise enough to trust that voice which is the voice of the Divine that is whispering to us? Are we wise enough to listen and to follow? Are we wise enough to practice and put our faith in the Infinite Source of all life? Are we wise enough to remember that we never walk alone? Are we wise enough to be true to our own soul? Tune in and listen!
When you tune in and listen, you'll hear rounds of applause, the universe jumping up and down with joy, and dancing in the streets. Yeah!

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
As our faith grows, through definite and constant practice, it will do more than satisfy simply our needs. It will bring forth that which is Divine within ourselves. It will bring forth hidden talents which have been lying dormant. It will cause us never again to feel insecure, lonely, or separated. For such faith will make us whole.

Making the Connection

We talk a lot about turning within and making that connection with our Sacred Self, our Divine Self, the wisdom, genius, and brilliance within. And yet, many of us have a fear of making that deep connection with ourselves because we are afraid of what we might find.

I was a master at avoiding looking within. I was good at pretending and I did look within to the places that weren't too deep or too terrifying. Needless to say, I did all of my 'looking' with my head and not with my heart. But I finally embarked on a journey of 'feeling, revealing, and healing' and this journey has been a heart opening and not completely unpleasant. I've discovered my own wisdom and I found there was nothing to fear. In fact, it's been rather entertaining!

What if we are actually betraying our gifts when we fail to connect deeply with ourselves? Even if it looks like we are sharing our gifts, maybe we are actually withholding the fullness of them. If we look within, are we afraid we are powerful or are we afraid we are flawed? Whatever the answer, it's time to face that fear and remember the fear isn't the truth. It's time to let go of that lesser idea (fear) and rise to the heights of glory.

Making that sacred connection with ourselves can be magic in our lives.

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
But it is only as you let go of the lesser that you can take hold of the greater, only as you drop confusion that you can entertain peace, only as you transcend doubt and fear that you can be lifted up to the hill tops of the inner Life.

The Tomb of Limitation

Can we believe that every stone of limitation can be rolled away from our tomb? Or do we believe we need to have luck, it is too late for us, it’s not in the cards or the stars, that our fate is sealed, that we are too tired, or that we don’t get the breaks? It’s hard to get enthusiastic about those mindsets and yet we find ourselves settling for ‘good enough’ and at times ‘not good enough’ because we are stuck in a tomb of limiting beliefs.

So often our limiting beliefs are tied into our identity.
How do we identify ourselves? Do we think we are our bodies? If our bodies are less than perfect, does that mean we are less than perfect? Do we think we are our history and our stories? If our history shows us as flawed and damaged, does that mean we are flawed and damaged? If we’ve failed, does that mean we are failures? If we’ve been unsuccessful at finding love or our purpose, does that mean we are unlovable or lost? Of course not!

What story of limitation are you ready to die to? Are you ready to rise up out of the tomb of limitation and claim your brilliance and magnificence? Are you ready to spread your wings? Are you ready to rise up and be the God-being you were created to be? Are you ready to be seen in 2016? I sure hope so!

Sometimes rising up to our magnificence and brilliance may seem scary or uncomfortable - but you've dealt with those feeling before and were victorious. Don't forget, being scared or uncomfortable is not your identity, either!

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
In this act of transforming the energy into power for specific action we are uniting an invisible Essence with an invisible Law, which is the way the universe operates. If we identify ourselves with the Source and perform the act, we may know that our word establishes eternal harmony, transforms everything, rearranges everything to our benefit.

It is an act of complete surrender of the human to the Divine without the loss of the human. It is an act of complete inflowing of the Divine into the human without the limitation of the Divine.            ~ Creative Living
