The Bridge That Gets You There

We've all heard the phrase, "you can't get there from here" and sometimes it seems as if our 'there' is really, really far away and we don't know how to get 'there.' Of course, spiritually speaking, there is no here or there, everything is One. However, in our human experience, we can feel the longing or the discomfort  between where we are and where we want to go; between where we are and how we want to live life fully and on purpose.

We can get there from here if we are willing to bridge the gap between where we are and where we want to be. And when we build that bridge, it can feel like it is a suspension bridge that is poorly built, wobbly, and really scary. So we tend to retreat back to what feels safe and comfortable. 

Although I am afraid of heights, my daughter and I both crossed the Capilano suspension bridge (pictured) and I was scared. Really scared. It was wobbly and a drop of 230 feet. I was completely in the present moment, focusing on my very next step with the end clearly in mind.

Safe and comfortable is the not the way to our brilliance. Safe and comfortable lands us firmly in mediocrity. Safe and comfortable is easy (and dare I say boring??). One of the best things we can do for ourselves is push our upper limits and let go of our limiting ideas that we are flawed, or we aren't worthy, or we aren't good enough, or we aren't lovable (you get the idea). And who knows, you might find wobbly exciting! Let me know how it goes.

Take one step at a time, keep your focus on the end result, and trust your inner wisdom that you are crossing the bridge that leads you back to yourself.

Commitment to Transformation

I love this quote from Theodore Roosevelt: "It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthycause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while DARING GREATLY so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat."

When we make a commitment to transformation, we are daring greatly. Making a commitment to transformation isn't just about KNOWING, it is about DOING. It isn't about knowing what is standing in the way of getting connected to the Divine Presence, what are we going to do about it? It isn't about knowing what false beliefs we have that have been keeping us stuck and safe, what are we going to do about it? 

It is possible that each and every one of us is being called from deep withing to enter a new way of being; a new way of showing up in this world -to live loud and live large; to make a difference; to boldly, proudly, and daringly bringing our gifts and talents to bear for the betterment of the world. Are you heeding that call?

Time to Rewrite Our Future

God is good! Even in the midst of apparent failure, God is good. Even in the midst of disease or emotional challenge, God is good. Even in the midst of financial turmoil or depression, God is good. And in every moment we have the opportunity to remember that tidbit of Truth and rewrite our future.

We all want to rewrite our future, don't we? And we are rewriting our future right now. The question is, are we writing it from a perspective of our spiritual wholeness or our unhealed past?  What is your future going to look like if you forget who you are and do this year from your past? We want to create a new possibility for our future beginning now.
 
What is the vision for your life?  What values do you stand for?  What do you want to accomplish?  How big are you willing to be?  How bright are you willing to shine?  What are your dreams? We control our destiny by our thinking, our believing, and our knowing. Let's make 2015 the year we think we are awesome and magnificent, we believe we are awesome and magnificent, and know that we are awesome and magnificent - and let our destiny be fulfilled as we move into our infinite possibilities. 

What makes you come to life? No matter how alluring or beautiful or fancy, do not say YES to other people's dreams.

What Are You Passing On?

I was reading an email this week from a woman named Pamela Bruner who does EFT Tapping (Pamela's Website). She flew into Orlando and after she got off the plane and boarded the shuttle to the terminal, a woman sat down next to her and began to cry. Pamela asked if she needed some help and the woman replied, "My son's come back from Afghanistan for a visit, but I can't go see him! He's in California, and I couldn't get on the plane."

After more conversation, Pamela had uncovered that the woman next to her was afraid to fly so she couldn't get on ANY plane. Pamela explained she had helped lots of people with phobias and may be able to help her so she could get on a plane and see her son. After a few more minutes of conversation, the woman said something that shocked Pamela; she said, "Thank you, but I think I'll pass."

The answer to her prayers was there; it was within reach. The transformation she needed was right in front of her, and yet she said no. How many times do we say 'no?' What's stopping you from your dreams? What will it take to say "yes" to creating your amazing life? What will it take for you to say "yes" to living a life of power, passion, prosperity, and purpose?

There are people all around us who can help us to emerge from fear, worry, doubt, and unhappiness; we need to be open. Maybe the next time someone offers to help or support you, accept the offer and don't pass it up.
