We have a saying, "Change your thinking, change your life" and so often it seems as if we want others to change. We want others to be nicer, to be kinder, and to be more considerate. We want others to be more responsible, to reach out to us, to step up and help out. We want others to forgive, to apologize, to be less angry, and to stop pushing our buttons. So while we may want things to change in our life, we don't always want to be the one to make the first move.
How many times have we not used our inner wisdom
and made the needed changes that we know will result in increased happiness or success? How many times do we keep doing the same things over and over because we've had some past success, even if it isn't working now? How often do we seem to demand that others change to our way of thinking and behaving? I wonder how many ways we are keeping our good from ourselves, whether it is in health, relationships, or finances simply because we continue to hang onto to old ideas or old patterns.

Wisdom from Ernest Holmes
As you listen to the Divine Wisdom within you, you will receive your inspiration and guidance. As you speak your word, think your thoughts, or make your affirmations with complete conviction, you will discover that you are using a Power that actually is, and that actually does respond to you. The Spirit within you is God, the infinite Source of your intelligence and wisdom and creative power.

we get to determine what is right for us and we can wake up to the idea that things can be different and we can be different. And we don't have to settle for someone else's opinion. I love this twist on the Serenity Prayer: God, grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change; the courage to change the one I can; and the wisdom to know that person is me.
simply allow things to happen once we establish a particular consciousness? When we look in the mirror and we don't like what we see, we don't try and fix the mirror, do we? And yet, that's exactly what we are doing when we look to the external world and try to fix things out there when we don't also work on adjusting what created that thing that needs to be fixed in the first place: namely our consciousness.
allow our inner life determine our outer life and not the other way around. And this type of changed thinking takes time and practice. And we may not get it perfect the first thousand times we try it, but we must persist.
thought could be the beginning of opening up; the beginning of releasing old ideas and beliefs; the beginning of allowing and not controlling; the beginning of listening to our own inner brilliance.
